Boston Terriers
Recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1893, the Boston Terrier is one of America's native breeds, having been developed in Boston, MA. The Boston Terrier's early survival can be mostly attributed to a dog named "Judge" and his offspring in the 1870's. Members of the (then)new American Bull Terrier Club had to spend 2 years proving that this mix of English Bulldog and White English Terrier would produce consistent offspring.
